Documenting Britain

Living Infinite

For Documenting Britain, I will explore British coastline (particularly in south of England), seaside towns and people’s relationship with the sea, from holidays and houseboats to people making the living out of it.

Shoreham-by-Sea

Shoreham-by-Sea is a seaside town and port in West Sussex, England between the city of Brighton & Hove and the town of Worthing. It has a population of around 18,000.

Shoreham’s housing boat community has developed over the years. The boats rest on mud flats on the River Adur. They are moored alongside a raised public foot path and are surrounded by jetties, gardens and small buildings. Some of the boats are more regular converted barges, but a majority of them are converted military vessels.
